Beauty in the Bag DIY Travel Makeup Bags

When you travel, do you have a go-to cosmetics bag to stash your makeup or other toiletries? Hopefully you’ve found a bag to fit all of your essentials, to keep them from spilling out into your suitcase. But cosmetic bags like that can get expensive. So, why not create your own! I’m sharing a great DIY today for creating this boxy mini makeup bag. Compact enough for your stylish purse but big enough to fit all your touch up supplies you may need for a party, evening out, or special event like a wedding.

ALL YOU NEED PER BAG: 20cm zip Clear plastic – two 20cm x 20cm squares (plus small edge) @ 0.2mm thick plastic Thread/sewing machine/scissors
TRAVEL BAG GUIDELINES: I made my bags 20cm height x 20cm length (as you can see, the zip opening is exactly 20cm like the cardboard), and used a piece of cardboard as a guide to mark the plastic in pen. When you cut the plastic remember to leave a small edge to allow room to sew the seams. It’s as easy as sewing the zip as shown here, and sewing the two sides together (with the zip open) inside out. Then turn the bag inside out again and voila! You have your awesome reusable bag. You can also use the bags to easily and safely transport your fabulous accessories. The possibilities are endless! I bought a full meter of clear plastic (@ $6.99/m), and have a lot of left over, so will be makingi many, many more.
